Eight fire tenders and water tankers have been dispatched to douse flames in Mumbai’s Mankhurd area. On Monday evening, a fire broke out at a scrap godown in the Mandala scrapyard area of Mankhurd, Mumbai.
A Mumbai civic body official told PTI that there was no report of injuries. He added that four fire engines and other vehicles were conducting fire-fighting operations. Mumbai Police and civic staff have been mobilised at the spot.
The fire at Manhood godown broke out days after the blaze at Poonam Chambers in Mumbai’s upscale Worli area on December 15. The fire was reported at around 11.39 am, and no one has been injured so far, said MFB.
The fire reportedly originated from the second floor of the seven-floor commercial building, said the officials. PTI reported on December 13 that an empty coach undergoing routine maintenance caught fire at a Western Railway workshop in the Lower Parel area. The incident occurred inside the maintenance depot around 6.45 pm in the non-passenger area.
