It came as a surprise of the decade when insiders revealed to the world that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang planned to execute Bollywood star Salman Khan at his farmhouse in Panvel, Maharashtra. It required a scenario whereby the actor was to have been shot while driving his car, with armed men emerging from other cars to shoot at him using AK-47 rifles.
The Navi Mumbai police have nabbed four shooters of the ‘Bishnoi gang’ with regards to the averted attempt. Inquiries likewise showed that the gang was communicating with a contact in Pakistan for some weapons to be used in the intended act.
As per the information given by police, the gang had done a recce of Salman Khan’s farmhouse and his bungalow at Bandra, where a shooting mishappening occurred in April. The police have also seized some videos from the arrested persons’ hand-held devices in which the suspects taught how to assault the actor using different objects.
Police have used the tough Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against all those arrested in the firing outside Salman Khan’s home in the Bandra suburb of Mumbai. This latest instance has raised the alarm among the entertainment fraternity as the industry continues to battle with risks associated with underworld players and violence directed at popular performers.
