Gautam Adani emphasizes service and devotion at ISKCON event

Speaking on his achievements, Adani has said it was all because of divine guidance-one is grateful and must remain humble for everything. While interacting with Guru Prasad Swami Maharaj, Chairman of the Governing Body Commission of ISKCON, here recently, the Chairman of Adani Group recalled the modest beginnings he had and averred that material wealth is second in importance compared to fulfilling basic human needs.

“I come from a very humble family background, and no matter what stage I reach, I often feel that my journey is not solely due to my abilities. My Almighty guides me in doing everything that I do. After all, money and material things are marginal with regard to the essence of life,” he said.

The meeting coincided with the announcement that ISKCON and the Adani Group have joined hands to distribute meals during the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj starting from January 13 to February 26. The effort, called Mahaprasad Seva, will look to feed thousands of devotees during the event.

Adani responded, “We will always lean on you with assistance to help the society. This will be privileged because your organization possesses magnificent delivery systems where millions are aided or reach out to seek help.”.

Adani and Swami Maharaj respectfully echoed each other on the merits of ISKCON-the latter elaborating that one should serve the Supreme through his life, energy, wealth, and words, as stipulated in the ‘shastras.’ Adani too spoke of his close bonding with ISKCON, lauding its services of providing Prasadam during the Maha Kumbh 2025. “Service is the highest form of patriotism. It is sadhana, it is prayer, and it is God,” he said.

Further, to demonstrate commitment to promote the cultural values, Adani Group had a tie-up with Geeta Press for distributing one crore copies of ‘Aarti Sangrah’ free at the Kumbh Mela. Adani wrote on X, “The Maha Kumbh is the great yagna of Indian culture and religious faith. It is a matter of immense satisfaction that we are offering these copies to devotees with the cooperation of Geeta Press.”

He drew inspiration from the officials at Geeta Press, serving the nation through Sanatan literature for a century. Adani emphasized that selfless service and devotion to religion and culture, too, are patriotism-one that everyone must aspire for. “Service is sadhana, service is prayer, and service is God,” he concluded.
