The family has complained that valuables worth Rs 50 lakh have gone missing from their locker in the Bank of Baroda. The complainant has further claimed that the bank employees refused to answer their questions.
She said she received a panicked call from the bank on October 21, a day after Karwa Chauth, in which she was asked to rush to the branch as soon as possible.
She went there with her husband and father-in-law to find out that their locker had been opened and all their jewelry had gone.
She further said the locker contained 40-50 tolas of gold and 50-60 tolas of silver.
The complainant also alleged that the bank employees refused to provide any information despite the family approaching them with questions. “The bank called us, and when we arrived, the people were silent,” she said.
Concerned and worried, the husband of this woman, Ankush Goyal, said, “We want police to complete the probe as soon as possible.
We have had an account with this bank for the last 20-25 years. We never imagined our gold would disappear from a bank locker.”
The case has raised more questions than ever about the bank’s security system. The police are now investigating the CCTV footage to trace its source.
