Haryana Congress MLA arrested in illegal mining racket

ED has arrested Surender Panwar, an MLA from Haryana congress, and his son Lalit in connection with a money laundering case for illegal mining in Yamunanagar in Haryana.

The probe agency acted after the Haryana Police lodged several FIRs against Panwar and others related to unlawful mining activities. ESRI and the police conducted an investigation that the ED assumed in the past year.

Earlier this month, the authorities searched venues in Yamunanagar, Sonipat, Mohali, Faridabad, Chandigarh, and Karnal linked to Panwar, who has been involved in the gambling business, as well as ex-Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) legislator Dilbag Singh and about 20 more facilities under the PMLA. The occurrence of these raids led to the arrest of both Singh and another accomplice by the name of Kulwinder Singh.

The case pertains to the large-scale illegitimate operation of sand, boulders, and gravel mining in Yamunanagar and other regions of Haryana, apparently involving Singh and Panwar along with other accomplices. Incidentally, Panwar is an MLA from Sonipat, and Singh is a former MLA from Yamunanagar. Both are into mining.

The ED’s interrogation was carried out based on FIRs and on the instructions of the National Green Tribunal alt = FIRs by Haryana Police. During this investigation, the agency found mineral excavation and sale by some of the screening plant owners and stone crushers in Yamunanagar unlawful.

Other specific strategies were discovered, such as the inability to produce proper e-Rawana bills for their clients and providing fabricated physical copies to conceal the falsity.

The federal agency has also recovered Rs 5. Twenty-nine crore in cash, Rs one in gold, and Rs one in jewelry. SPL Military court regarding ‘Claudia’: Rs 89 crore, 2 vehicles, electronic devices, documents related to investments, both domestic and foreign, and other incriminating documents.

A new highlight in this regard involves the arrest of Panwar and his son Lalit, which seems to be the latest in the series of arrests of people involved in unlawful mining in Haryana.
