Some female students of a college in UP levelled allegations of sexual exploitation against a professor named Rajneesh Kumar. Lewd videos and images of the professor have raged on social media.
A principal proctor in a college at Uttar Pradesh’s Hathras was accused of sexual exploitation by many female students. The proctor, Rajneesh Kumar, oversees the Geography Department at PC Bagla College at Hathras.
After the allegations, authorities suspended Rajnish Kumar, the principal proctor of Bagla Degree College in Hathras. The principal of the college, Dr Mahavir Singh, has also confirmed the suspension after the incident was reported. District officials have also noted the issue.
The UP Police filed a case against him under various sections, including rape. The matter came to the fore after some female students sent anonymous complaints to local police and the National Commission for Women (NCW).
The students in their complaint alleged sexual exploitation by Rajneesh Kumar. They also posted photographs purportedly depicting the chief proctor in objectionable poses with some students. A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) made an initial inquiry, substantiating the allegations by interviewing the students seen in the photos.
The Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) investigated the case further and ascertained the credibility of the allegations. Based on the report of the investigation, the police lodged an FIR and launched legal proceedings against Rajneesh.
At the same time, the district magistrate has constituted a four-member committee to probe, comprising the sub-divisional magistrate, deputy superintendent of police, tehsildar, and the district education officer. The committee has been asked to submit its report within seven days.
Videos of the proctor sexually assaulting college students are now trending on social media, causing widespread outrage. Reports stated that he has been sexually assaulting girls for the last 20 years.
Earlier, an FIR was also allegedly filed against him, but he was found innocent. The professor would call the girls to his office or bungalow and promise them good grades in exams or offer them jobs. He allegedly also recorded videos and blackmailed the students to remain silent. The photos and videos are presently trending on social media with everyone demanding strict action against him.
