Shimla police have been put on high alert due to a protest called by various Hindu outfits regarding the ‘unauthorized construction of a mosque’ in the Sanjauli region. To uphold fairness, dismantling laws under Section 163 of the Bharat Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, have been implemented. This law outlaws groups of more than five people in public places without the former’s permission.

The prohibitory orders apply to all kinds of public meetings, processions, demonstrations, hunger strikes, and dharna unless given prior permission. Also, taking weapons or any other things that can be inflamed has been prohibited. Moreover, Early this year, there was a complete ban on the carrying of weapons or any other things that can be inflamed.

The Superintendent of Police of Shimla said everything is controlled, and the police force is deployed only to maintain law and order. Other measures include drone surveillance, which has also been started to check it.

Kumar said,
