Addressing an excited audience, PM Modi switched on ‘Mission Chips’ as he laid the foundation for 3 cutting-edge semiconductor plants worth $17 billion.
Terming it a historic day to script India’s future, the PM expressed optimism about the transformational potential. He said the plants by Tata Group will help India emerge as a global hub.
Semiconductors are crucial, but India has lagged so far. Modi highlighted the importance of a reliable supply chain as Covid disrupted many. “India is committed to playing a key role,” he asserted.
India is already a leader in space, nuclear, and digital spheres. But Modi aims higher—he wants India to emerge as a global power in semiconductors. The commercial plants will aid Aatmanirbhar Bharat in reducing import dependence.
Reiterating India’s pledge to modernise, the PM said the 21st century belongs to technology, and India is pioneering Industry 4.0. “Made in India Chips will empower further,” he added.
As applause erupted, it was evident India sees a bright tech future. With Modi switching on the engines, Mission Chips aims to power the nation’s semiconductor rise.
