India Advises Citizens in Israel Amid Regional tensions

The Indian embassy in Tel Aviv today advised all Indian citizens in the Israeli state to remain cautious and follow the Israeli advisories in view of the developing situation in the Middle East given by the war in Gaza.

The advisory comes after the assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran,” said Arab News on Wednesday.

The Iraqi PM was in Tehran for a ceremony to inaugurate Iran’s new President, Masoud Pezeshkian. Despite the fact that Israel has not taken responsibility for that act, and the U.S. provided a denial of their involvement, Iran has complained to both countries regarding what it has labeled an act of aggression against its own sovereignty and has warned of reciprocal action that will be taken against the perpetrators.

Sustained aggression began with the concern of Israeli troops and Hezbollah on October 8 last year. Last Saturday saw the scale of hostility pushed a notch higher after the Lebanese militant group fired a rocket at a soccer pitch in Palestine, claiming the lives of at least 12 children and teenagers in the Israel section.

The assassination of senior leaders of the Hamas and Hezbollah groups this week aggravated the regional conflict.

“Considering the current situation in the region, all Indians in Israel are requested to remain cautious and follow laws and regulations as instructed by Israeli authorities,” was stated by the Indian Embassy in an advisory posted in the social media platform’ X’. “

We wish to caution everyone to avoid nonessential intercity transport within the country and stay near safe zones; The embassy is observing the situation and is in constant contact with the Israeli authorities to guarantee the security of all its citizens,” the alert said.
