The Ministry of External Affairs has said that Biden and Modi discussed the situation in Bangladesh extensively during their conversation a few days ago. Public relations head Randhir Jaiswal went on record to state the same while further explaining that two of the leaders greatly dealt with the issue.
The ministry also informed us that mutual cooperation projects in India and Bangladesh have been hampered due to continuing activeness associated with student agitation over the job reserve issue. Such protests have paved the way for an unstable law-and-order situation in Bangladesh, which has led to more than 600 deaths, plus thousands of others injured.
Jaiswal also condemned some sections of the media which were blaming India for the floods in Bangladesh. Referring to a story by CNN, the President said that its storyline was a fabrication. ”We have watched the CNN report on the flood situation in Bangladesh. The report indicates that India is in some way responsible for the flood. ”
More recently, floods have already killed at least eighteen people in the country and presented huge difficulties for the new government. As of now, more than 300,000 are living in emergency shelters, more than five. About two million have been affected by the disaster.
It must be noted that after the floods, there were baseless rumors on social media, and some parts of the Bangladesh media accused India of it. In the past, the Ministry of External Affairs has issued a statement debunking such myths by terming them mere myths with no element of truth.
This is factually incorrect and overlooks the facts stated in the press releases put out by the Government of India. Jaiswal said and stated that both countries continuously engage with each other with respect to water management policy. Speculations about the discharge of water from the Gomati River of Tripura and doctored pictures have only added insult to injury and staunchly followed the infamous blame game against India.
