The lethal combination of AI and IA has given the terrorists a Jattha blow in the northern Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. The Indian Army revealed Tuesday how AI is helping the armed forces in counter-terror operations, citing the recent success in the Akhnoor region.
In a briefing, Major General Sameer Shrivastava, GoC 10 Infantry Division, said, “We have used uncrewed vehicle, artificial intelligence that gave us quick and successful results. We lost one Army Dog – he was ahead when we were doing search operations, and militants fired upon the Dog. Due to his sacrifice, many lives could have been saved.”
It was the sniffer canine of the Indian Army that breathed its last during the deployment in the recent counter-terror operation. The four-year-old suffered fatal bullet wounds while charging at terrorists, thereby alerting and saving the troops behind.
Such information was spreading after this operation that the Army had used BMP-we had used that kind of vehicle because the area was tough, a gradient of 30 degrees and dense forest-we used those vehicles after locating militants to reach there,” the senior Army official added.
Three terrorists eliminated Indian forces killed three terrorists after they opened fire at an ambulance in the Army’s convoy in the Akhnoor area on Monday.
“When these people (terrorists) were detected, we received information from the village, and hence our reaction was quick. The purpose for which they had come wasn’t fulfilled, and thus, they opened fire at our convoy, Major General Shrivastava was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
