Indian Army foils terrorist infiltration attempt in Jammu and Kashmir

In a major counter-terrorism grid, the Indian Army prevented two terrorists from crossing LoC in the Keran Sector in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. The reported event took place on 18 July 2017 at about 0030 hours when the attentive soldiers detected the movement of the two terrorists through thick bushes on the Indian side of the LoC.

Official sources claim that the terrorists who sneaked in were quickly confronted by the security forces. However, this action only elicited fire from the side of the terrorists, and effective shooting ensued. Due to this, the rather prompt and efficient reaction of the Indian Army led to the neutralization of the two hard-core foreign terrorists.

The security forces found the terrorist’s weapons, war-like stores, and one Pakistani identity card, claiming that they were from foreign elements.

This disturbing anti-infiltration strike is the third of this kind in the last few weeks, clearly illustrating the Indian Army’s resolve towards maintaining the inviolability of the LoC and the vigorous counter-infiltration stance to preclude peace in the Kashmir Valley.

Earlier, in another operation, two Indian army soldiers were injured when terrorists activated in Kastigarh of Doda district in Jammu and Kashmir.

Remnants of these acts point to the Indian Army’s alertness and professionalism that has helped deny the force’s hostile intent in infiltration attempts that seek to breach the country’s territorial borders and penetrate deep into the region.
