The Indian Embassy in Berlin said on Monday that it has kept “close contact” with all seven Indians injured in last week’s tragic attack at the Magdeburg Christmas market in Germany.
The attack, by a 50-year-old man who ran his car into the crowd, was on Friday evening and left at least five people dead, among them a nine-year-old child, and almost 200 injured, German authorities reported.
The sources revealed that the Indian Embassy has been quite proactive and extended all possible assistance to the injured Indians, and on Saturday night itself, it had said that “all required support would be provided to the affected people.”.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs said: “The government strongly condemns this horrific and senseless attack”. It said the country condoled the loss of precious lives and that its thoughts and prayers were with all victims and their families.
