An alarming surge in respiratory illnesses has been reported from China, where, according to reports, there are complaints of congested hospitals and an overwhelmed healthcare system.
Reports of a COVID-like Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) outbreak have emerged from China. The Indian health agency stated that the virus spreading in the neighbouring country is “like any other respiratory virus that causes colds,” and there is no need for an alarm.
