Amid a terrible accident, an Indian-origin family couple and their adolescent daughter came to this world in Brampton, Ontario, in a highly destructive house fire. The case marked the criterion event that led to the community reaction and which police attempted to unveil all to the very end.
Three of the family members are victims and these are Rajiv Warikoo, who is 51 years old; his wife, Shilpa Kotha, who is 47 years old; and their 16-year-old daughter, Mahek Warikoo. Tragically, both parents and two young children, all dead and heavily charred to be beyond recognition, were found lifeless in their home on Big Sky Way and Van Kirk Drive.
Originally, it has been described as residential fire, however, police have begun suspecting that there was a criminal involvment. Peel police posted the fire as having a “clandestine” nature. Later, the Fire Marshal’s assessment confirmed this theory. Therefore, as the investigation has moved to the extent of being a homicide case, there is a great focus on uncovering what happened and determining the cause of this tragedy.
Eyewitnesses recount a frantic scenario in which they first notice a roar followed by a fire that instantly manifests and rages into the dwellings. Neighbours, like Keneth Yousuf, who lived nearby, run to the scene, where streams of black smoke emerge from the fully engulfed house. The overwhelming flames and the incredible hurrying towards the family’s predicament had already caused much hopelessness.
After eradicating the flames, the die-hard authorities stumbled upon a gloomy finding of the blackened house. DNA testing confirmed the Skeleton as belonging to a missing individual, Rajiv Warikoo. Assuming it to be human remains, the bodies were later identified as belonging to a missing individual, Shilpa Kotha, and a second missing individual, Mahek Warikoo. The incident led to the harrowing loss of this adorable family from this town, which is currently going through deep mourning for their untimely death.
The period during which Rajiv Warikoo volunteered in the Toronto Police before concluding his term in 2016 witnessed many activities geared towards the community’s prosperity. Mahak Warikoo, a skilful teenager whom everyone, including his parents, considers to be a soon-to-be professional player and despite that, everyone believes he has an opportunity to win a scholarship at the Belvedere universities all over America, is his parents’ worry.
The investigation into this sad incident continues, and authorities are asking anybody who can say nice or have any relevant videos to come forward kindly.
