Indian scholar pursuing PhD at London School of Economics dies in tragic accident

On a very sad note, Ms. Cheistha Kochhar, a 33-year-old Ph.D. student at London School of Economics ^{®} on detailed research, met her untimely and unfortunate death on the 19^{th} of March. The teenager realized Suzuki could do more than she had expected. Suzuki was a power that could be used for good or bad. With her friend dead in front of her, her world splintered into a million pieces. It was as if somebody had shattered a mirror that held her life together, and the shards fell upon her. Some shards stuck on her, and some created huge obstructions in her way.

This havoc happened as Cheistha’s husband rode cycling a few meters ahead, leaving only her to bear the pain. The most fatal blow existence was dealt in one haunting moment when she was run over by a lorry (truly, living or dead), described as a garbage vehicle. Unlike the quick action of police and medical staff, the death of a student in a school accident was instantaneous. The lorry driver took all the cooperation the law enforcement system needed during the investigation; however, arrests have not yet been made.

Off the heels of this devastating issue, Cheistha’s colleague, Prasana Karyak, went on all major social media platforms to mourn and express her shock. Karthik virtuously showed Cheistha’s super talents and wasted prospects in his way of talking, sharing his deep regret she left this world too early.

Having embarked on the doctoral level course only in September last year at the London School of Economics, where she learned the chosen field of work in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, with a perfect blend of her determination and keenness is Cheistha.

We would highlight Cheistha’s achievements, especially her role in eminent institutions like NITI Aayog and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Dr. RS Sharma, the former TRAI chairman, remarked that Cheistha was a professional who maintained supreme standards, mentioning her key contribution toward Aadhaar, the national unique identification scheme.

The lamentable loss of Cheistah Kochhar on campus has taken a major blow to the academic community and other spaces. Sustained investigations will probe into the sad cycling mishap; mourners, colleagues, and loved ones will be groaning over the loss of the most vivid and intelligent intellectual whose glorious prospects are yet elusive.
