IndiGo flight delayed for hours, passengers left stranded

This morning, a flight leaving Mumbai for Doha, IndiGo, was made to spend four-and-a-half hours just on board without leaving. First, the flight was to be launched at 3:55 AM, and the passengers claimed that they were told to leave the plane because of some technical problem with the aircraft, inconveniencing about 250-300 passengers at the Mumbai airport.

Due to this communication, IndiGo stated that flight 6E 1303 was indeed delayed and was subsequently subject to cancellation owing to technical complications. It regrets any inconvenience caused. A spokesperson said that while several tries were made to launch the aircraft, it was forced to return to the ground at one point because of procedural holds.

Many of the disgruntled passengers complained that they could not disembark until the immigration procedures had been finalized. One of them emphasized the problem of expressing to the authorities that they were used as hostages; another complained about the absence of food and water during the long stop. ‘This here is like a war zone,’ he said, ‘People are concerned with their employment statuses while families sit with children. ’

Next, IndiGo stated that the airport team arranged food and other required services for the passengers who suffered from the delays. The airline said that those affected were provided options to arrange accommodation and rebook their flights.

In an earlier incident on Saturday, a similar incident occurred with a SpiceJet flight from Delhi to Darbhanga route in which passengers got engaged in a verbal refusal with the official after they alleged that their flight had been canceled only five minutes before the boarding time. This flight has been known to be canceled often, and this has caused a lot of concern among travelers.
