Insights from CCTV footage of the Reasi terror strike emerged

CCTV footage provides clues into the deadly Reasi terror attack.

CCTV footage has emerged, giving insights into the sequence of events preceding the Reasi terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir that claimed 10 lives. The bus carrying pilgrims was ambushed by terrorists on Sunday while en route from Shiv Khori temple to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine. It careened into a gorge after attackers opened fire, exploiting its slow speed near a bend.

Sources said six people have been detained for questioning. Security forces have deployed 11 teams operating on two axes, utilizing leads from police sources.

The dense foliage covering mountains in the region aids terrorists’ escape, becoming a growing challenge for forces in Jammu. It was observed that attackers target vehicles at bends to cause maximum damage before fleeing into thick cover.

Authorities rushed to the scene after the accident. Senior police officials and forces cordoned off the area for investigation while swiftly evacuating the injured to hospitals.

Additional security measures have been implemented with forces deploying drones for searches. An NIA team has also been dispatched to aid local probes into the gruesome attack.

A hunt is currently underway to nab those behind this act of terror. The incident has heightened concerns about the safety of pilgrims visiting religious sites in Jammu and Kashmir.
