As Iranian ambassador to India, Iraj Elahi asked India to be more proactive and respond to the increasing tensions in West Asia, which might lead to the escalation of the situation and beg the question of wider regional involvement. In the following interview, Ambassador Elahi underscored India’s relatively wide and diversified connection with Iran and Israel, after which he said that collaboration with India might prevent the unrest in the region and stabilize it.
On the contrary, Israeli bombarding reports in the cities of Isfahan and Tabriz following Israel’s making are entirely refuted by Ambassador Elahi, who claims it to be a part of Israeli war-mongering practice orchestrated by zionists. He emphasized violently that our operations did not influence the affected areas.
Referring to the latest raid by Iran against Israel, the ambassador clarified that the behaviour was a counter-assault to a Zionist regime attack. He soothed the public that Iran’s purpose for that attack was solely at military targets and not civilians.
Ambassador Elahi stressed India’s great significance in such an endeavour because of its ease of teasing Iran out of it and its beneficial relations with Israel. He insisted on India’s direct involvement in the enhancement of the Soviet Union’s mediation against Israel and specifically incidental serious Israeli human rights violations against the Palestinians.
When it comes to the relationship between Iran and India, Ambassador Elahi expressed his satisfaction with the current situation and his willingness to increase cooperation, including in the energy branch. Moreover, he discussed the great role of enactments such as the port of Chabahar development, which shores up links between India and the Central Asian regions.
A high commissioner, Elahi, pointed out that the sailors of Indian vessels aboard a seaside merchant vessel are not detained and can return to India as they were commanded to be by the vessel’s captain.
