Jaipur airport chaos: SpiceJet staffer slaps CISF personnel

The latest bitter event, which took place on Thursday at the Jaipur airport, was the arrest of one of the SpiceJet staff who assaulted a CISF personnel during a quarrel regarding a security check.

The accident happened at 4 a.m., when Anuradha Rani, an airline food supervisor, was accosted by assistant sub-inspector Giriraj Prasad for not having valid permission to use the ‘vehicle gate. ’ When the woman was asked to take a screening at the ‘magistrate gate,’ the two exchanged words, which resulted in Rani slapping the man.

Charges against Rani have been made under the Bharat Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) sections, and the lady is still detained.

To this, SpiceJet has covered its employee, alleging that she faced ‘sexual harassment. ’ The official said that Rani had a valid pass and “ mônage of indecent words” by a CISF officer who made an ‘unwelcome advance’ on her. The airline has threatened to file legal action over what it described as a ‘serious case of sexual harassment’.

Another CISF official who preferred anonymity said Rani was asked to undergo the necessary search, but no female security operatives were present then; she was reported to get agitated and slapped the CISF personnel on duty.

Again, this situation has raised concerns over the relations between the airline staff and security officials at the Indian airports as they continue complaining about each other’s intolerable behaviors.
