To the people of Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, which has otherwise remained a peaceful location to dwell, trade, and carry out business, had a twist in its fate when a group of armed robbers invaded a jewelry shop with devastating effects.
The event, which was recorded in the store’s security with the cameras, happened on Friday evening, 23 August, in the central marketplace of the Khairthal-Tijara district. Looking at the police version, seven to eight miscreants came in a vehicle, fired in the air, and kidnapped Jai Soni, the owner of Kamlesh Jewelers, his brother Madhusudan Soni, and a security guard, Sujan Singh.
The attempted theft was rather bold, and before long, the robbers had resorted to using guns, shooting during the confusion. Jai Soni, who was the store owner, died at the hospital; his brother and the guard were injured in the leg by bullets and are still in the hospital.
Eyewitness evidence shows that Jai Soni’s heroism was witnessed when, in a bid to stop the robbery, he tried to come in between the robbers and fight with them. The robbers moved wild and started shooting; they escaped, and Jai gave chase to prevent them from escaping.
Local citizens were highly disturbed by the incident. The traders’ association went on rampage and called for the arrest of the accused. Instead, the sitting MLA of Bhiwadi Baba Balaknath, along with other police officials, has since reached the protest site to resolve the problems of the angry traders.
Particularly during the investigation, local police have created groups that study the cameras and open the search for the authors of such an act. Jai Soni met his unfortunate demise, and the community in Bhiwadi lives with a sense of sorrow while at the same time demanding better security to protect the business entities in the area.
