Shahid Khan, a friend of Saini and the head of the minority wing of the BJP tried to save him and was injured.

Fatehpur police chief Dhawal Jaiswal said the incident occurred in the Kotwali area. “Dilip Saini, aged about 38, was stabbed. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
