In a shocking turn of events, popular Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa has been arrested in connection with the murder of a man whose body was found in Bengaluru. Darshan’s co-star and girlfriend, Pavithra Gowda, has also been named a key accused.
Pavithra Gowda, a Kannada actor in her own right, has worked in films and television, starring in shows like Chatrigalu Saar Chatrigalu, Agamya, and Preethi Kithabu. She made her film debut in 2016 with the movie 54321 and is also known as a model and fashion designer, running a Red Carpet Studio 777 boutique specializing in traditional sarees and outfits.
The incident has caused a stir on social media, particularly after Pavithra Gowda shared a video earlier this year celebrating “10 years of our relationship” with Darshan, who has been married to Vijaya Lakshmi for over 20 years.
According to police sources, the victim, Renuka Swamy, a 33-year-old resident of Chitradurga, had allegedly posted offensive comments on Pavithra’s social media account, accusing her of causing a rift between Darshan and his wife. The police are considering these interactions as potential reasons for the murder.
CCTV footage has also emerged, showing a car linked to Darshan near the spot where Renuka Swamy’s body was found in a drain at the Sumanahalli Bridge in Bengaluru. The police have further revealed that Darshan had allegedly asked three men to take the blame for the murder and offered them Rs 15 lakh in exchange.
As the investigation continues, the case has raised concerns about the complex web of relationships and potential motives behind the alleged crime. The arrests of the popular Kannada actor and his girlfriend have sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and the public at large.
