Kannada stars implicated in shocking murder case

A shocking murder case has jolted the Kannada film Industry, the actor Darshan Thoogudeepa and his co-star Pavithra Gowda at the deep end of the troubling charges. The victim is 33-year-old Renuka Swamy, said to have been tortured to death on June 8.

In the police’s version of events, Swamy was abducted from his home in Chitradurga and later taken to a shed in Bengaluru. There, he reportedly was subjected to torture consisting of whipping with wooden clubs and electric shocks or voltage. The legal cause of death – shock bleeding as a result of multiple blunt injuries – is indicated in the autopsy report.

The act was reportedly carried out due to abusive post-Cong Swami posts about Pavithra Gowda. This, it is claimed, led the actors into regrouping and plotting against him, mobilizing the help of the thugs from Darshan’s fan club to kidnap and kill her.

The mode of alter ego acting unusually got very complicated when four men were alleged to have been hired to take the blame in the case, and while some were said to have been paid for the confessions, others were said to have been promised to be paid. Though under torture, these people spitted out the names of the actors – the alleged culprits.

Police and forensic experts have obtained some crucial items, which include blood stains, CCTV footage, and belongings of both the deceased and the accused person. Another dubious instrument, a megger device that is claimed to be used by police officers to administer electrical shocks, has also been retrieved.

The matter does not end here, as the police custody periods of Darshan and Pavithra elapse; the Kannada film industry and public remain shocked. The actors are yet to be produced in court anytime soon as the police continue to unravel the circumstances that led to this cruelty.
