Kanpur rape case takes a tragic turn as the father of victim found dead

The chilling case of two teenage girls missing, followed by their bodies found hanging from a tree in Behrampur village of Kanpur district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, critically changed the lives of the two girls. On the other hand, in a tear-jerking story up to the eyes, the father of one of the victims is said to have died now, which makes the situation of the family more pathetic, and the sermon speaks even louder.

It was on Wednesday at about 3 p.m. in the first place that the distressing incident was reported, and Hamiurpur, which is about 2 kilometers from the home of the deceased person, became the site of where the corpse was found. On behalf of the senior police officer, Deeksha Sharma stated to the media that it was during the postmortem that the family finally got their daughter’s corpse so that her last rites could be done by consolation in their home village; a police officer supervised this performance of the last rites.

A murder case has just opened as the son of the deceased has filed a police complaint in connection with his father’s death, thereby manifesting the intensity of the family’s difficulty reconciling with the unlawful death and particularly their deep sorrow.

The series of events, which unfolded in disorder and sorrow, started last week when 2 minor girls who were employed in a local contractor’s Red Brick kiln supposedly were forced to take liquor. Then the pain began as they were raped by the contractor’s son, 18 years of age, and his nephew, 19 Years of age. By finding their lifeless bodies hanged from a tree, which was just barely 400 meters from the brick kiln, everyone in the community was plunged into the trauma.

The culprits are the three accused accused who were recently arrested. Access to the charges by the police stated that all the accused have been accused of grievous sexual offenses, abetment of suicide, and child sexual abuse according to the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act 2012.

Worsening the tragedy, the families of the girls are further accused of blackmailing the victims using the videos. The survivors were traumatized and mistreated by their people, thereby causing their untimely deaths. The police seized mobile videos and pictures from the suspect’s mobile phones during their investigation. The investigation is ongoing, and they are currently examining the evidence for the purposes of the case.

Being a fuel of the unrelenting uproar, that of women’s safety, justice, and the option of rigid and stringent punishments for such inhumane offenses has been revived once again. Rahul Gandhi, the MP of the Congress party, attacked the BJP’s (double engine government) claims, ridiculing the “double injustice.” He accused the government of running a two-sidedly unjust system.

With the country intensifying its efforts in combating this drama, the outcry for resolute action and recognition of the victims has become increasingly vocal. This time, the issue has laid bare measures that are urgent to protect the poor, and the people behind these acts must have strong measures against them to prevent future occurrences without taking sides or favor.

With agony, the nation calls for justice that reverberates through the corridors of power after this calamity. Consequently, the nation lives in pain as the dreams of many families are shattered by a stupid act of death.
