Kejriwal challenges Shah, Gandhi to drink Yamuna water

Delhi Assembly Election 2025: Arvind Kejriwal alleged that the ammonia levels in the Yamuna water supplied to Delhi shot up and claimed it was a deliberate attempt to disrupt the functioning of treatment plants.

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal dared Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to drink Yamuna water in public, which he claimed was being “poisoned” by neighboring Haryana. Amid an escalating row over his allegations ahead of the Delhi polls, Kejriwal told India Today that the Yamuna water in Delhi had a hazardous ammonia level of 7 parts per million (PPM).

Kejriwal said 7 PPM of ammonia was equivalent to “poison” and repeated his charges that the BJP-led government in Haryana was polluting the river, endangering the lives of Delhi residents.

Chief Minister Atishi and Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj also joined Kejriwal in challenging the opposition leaders to drink the same water.

Amit Shah ji, Rajiv Kumar ji, Rahul Gandhi, Sandeep Dikshit ji, show us that you can drink this water with 7 ppm ammonia before the media. You are sending 7 ppm water to Delhi and claiming that Kejriwal is lying,” he said.

He asked about the basis of his accusation against Haryana, a BJP rule state. When he was countered and asked then who is responsible because the water comes to Delhi from Panipat?
