The AAP supremo, Arvind Kejriwal, was allotted seat number 41 in the Delhi assembly, while his successor, Atishi, got the chief minister’s ‘one’ seat.
Former Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday while addressing the Delhi Legislative Assembly for the first time since his resignation.
“My colleagues in the opposition must be sad to see Manish Sisodia and me here,” Kejriwal said.
I always say Prime Minister Modi is mighty and has a lot of resources, but Modi is not God. The God who is there is with us. I want to thank the Supreme Court,”
Kejriwal, who was once at the ‘number one’ seat as chief minister himself, was sitting at number 41, a few paces from where he used to sit.
Atishi has replaced him as chief minister, while Kejriwal’s trusted lieutenant, Manish Sisodia, has been placed next to him at seat number 40.
Kejriwal has been Delhi’s chief minister for nearly a decade before demitting office.
His resignation came more than a year after allegations of corruption in a liquor distribution scheme piled pressure on pressure on AAP leadership.
Multiple AAP leaders, including former deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, had been kept without trial for months in connection with the case.
Kejriwal said a recent conversation with a senior BJP leader took him aback.
