That the AAP and the BJP hate each other is not a secret in Delhi politics; however, the BJP has recently raised the pitch of its attack on Kejriwal regarding the bail that the Supreme Court has granted him in the case of the excise policy fraud. The BJP has called for Kejriwal’s resignation on the grounds of policy paralysis and corruption in the liquor scandal. On the other hand, the AAP venerated the verdict, calling it a triumph of the truth.
Bare with this Supreme Court, Kejriwal got interim bail as he was behind bars for over 90 working days and had a question of individual liberty. However, the bail conditions do not allow him to patronize the office of the CM or ink any documents without the consent of the Lieutenant Governor.
Bansuri Swaraj, a BJP MP, alleged that Kejriwal is a prima facie criminal since the Supreme Court saw sufficient material to transfer the matter to a larger bench. She accused Kejriwal of having taken ₹ 100 crores from liquor mafias, and ₹ 45 crore was given for the Goa polls.
About this, AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar dismissed the allegations, complaining that the PMLA court gave a clean chit to Kejriwal and that the ED appeared to be partial. AAP MLA Imran Hussain said that truth and honesty will prevail.
The political battle for and against Kejriwal’s bail and the cases under investigation will continue to escalate since both sides will persist in pleading their respective allegations and defenses.
