Kerala man wins ₹75 lakh jackpot, dies in road accident

The irony is that just three months ago, Yakub won the “Stree Shakti Lottery,” which fetched him Rs 75 lakh—the money he had received just three weeks before.

His windfall fortune had brought fresh cheer to his family. Yakub, who used to work for a second-hand car dealer, is survived by his wife Mari and children Jibu and Jili.

What started as a season of unexpected joy for Yakub‘s family has now turned into profound grief with the sudden loss of their son.

The funeral is to be held in Yakub’s native village. His grieving family requests all to pray and stand by the family at this time of crisis. The incident, on its part, triggered various responses from the public, with many terming this as a regrettable turn of events.

Early this year, a young man who had won the first prize of Rs 70 lakh in the Kerala state lottery just four months earlier was found dead by suicide as he hanged himself inside a bakery. This tragic incident took place in Nellikunje.

The deceased was identified as Vivek Shetty of Bangaru, whose body was found hanging inside a bakery on the morning of February 3. No suicide note was recovered.
