A horrific incident of mass murder has come out of Venjaramoodu in Kerala’s Thiruvananthapuram district, where a 23-year-old man is suspected to have killed five individuals in three different locations before surrendering himself to the police. The accused, Afan, according to reports, confessed to the murders on Monday, exposing the horrific details of his crime.
The victims include his teenage brother, grandmother, paternal uncle, aunt, and a young woman thought to be his girlfriend. He also confessed to assaulting his mother, who survived the attack but is in critical condition.
As per early reports, Afan struck his victims to death with a hammer, hitting them multiple times. His uncle, Latheef, was the most brutally attacked among the victims. According to a witness, when Latheef’s body was moved, fingers unknowingly fell into a large cavity in his skull, showing the brutality of the attack. His wife, Sajitha, was murdered in the kitchen while preparing tea for Afan.
Teenage brother enticed by food, is murdered.
Afan’s 13-year-old brother, Afsan, was reportedly very close to him. However, he lured the child home under the pretext of offering him Kuzhimanthi, an Arabian rice dish, before striking him multiple times on the head. Shockingly, Rs 500 notes were scattered around Afsan’s body after the murder.
The rampage began, allegedly, on his 88-year-old grandmother, Salma Beevi, before he turned on the family of his uncle. His last victim was a woman, who is thought to be his girlfriend, and whom he assaulted so brutally that her face was not recognisable.
