Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a Khalistani terrorist who tops the Indian list, sent out a blood-curdling threat saying that his next targets would be Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The Khalistani militant, on December 24, went on to share a viral video on social media. He claimed in this that he attacked the leaders at Kumbh Mela 2025 in Prayagraj.
Pannun, who represented the organization Sikhs for Justice, promised “vengeance” over the recent encounter in which three Khalistani terrorists were killed. He accused the state of having killed them in a “fake encounter” and declared that his organization would grant five hundred thousand rupees to the families of the three dead.
In the video, Pannun threatened that his organization would avenge what he termed “Hindutva terrorism” and named Kumbh Mela as a target. He said the attacks could take place on all important auspicious dates such as January 14, January 29, and February 3, when the Shahi Snan rituals fall.
Pannun said in a statement that while both PM Modi and CM Yogi would be coming to Prayagraj, the venue of Kumbh Maha, Sikhs for Justice would “shake the foundation” of Hindutva terrorism, thereby making this Maha Kumbh the last to be attended by both leaders.
This threat comes after the recent operation by UP and Punjab Police in which the three Khalistani terrorists, Gurvinder Singh (25), Virender Singh alias Ravi (23), and Jaspreet Singh alias Pratap Singh (18), were killed. The trio, associated with the banned Khalistan Zindabad Force, was killed in Pilibhit district after allegedly opening fire on police forces during an attempt to apprehend them. The Pilibhit Police have acknowledged the threats of Pannun and confirmed that legal action is being pursued against him.
