Kharge urges Modi to address real issues, not lies

On Saturday, Modi hit back at Congress on alleged failure to deliver on its poll promises, saying the opposition party was “badly exposed” to making “unreal promises.”

Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss the “actual” issues facing the nation rather than “spewing lies” on the Opposition by highlighting the state of the economy, which is suffering because of the Narendra Modi government’s “economic disturbance.”

Fake narratives cannot replace real welfare. Look at the economic carnage you have created by stripping ordinary citizens of their last paisa! Even the festive cheer could not put a spring in the steps of India’s Economy, which is reeling under low consumption, high inflation, increasing inequality, dampened investment, and wage stagnation, Kharge said in a post on X.

Modi attacked the Congress on Saturday over alleged failure to deliver on poll promises, saying the opposition party was “badly exposed” for making “unreal promises”.

Kharge shot back: “Lies, deceit, fraud, loot, and publicity are the five adjectives that best sum up the BJP government.” He cited five “undeniable facts” about the economy:

The increase in food prices, the decline in demand for fast-moving consumer goods, the plunge in household savings, dropping automobile sales, and the stagnation in the real wages of labourers.

Between 2014-15 and 2021-22, the wages of India’s workforce rose by less than 1% (ILO). Modi ji, it is evident that you do not believe in complex data as you have learnt the art of FAKERY! BJP’s anti-people policies are eating away at India’s Economy!\” Kharge wrote.

Modi’s attack came a day after Kharge advised the state units of Congress to declare poll sops based on fiscal viability, warning that an unplanned approach could lead to financial difficulties and hurt future generations.
