The college had a couple of days back called upon the protesting doctors in Kolkata to call off the strike and resume work on Tuesday.
Within two days since the Supreme Court’s reprimand, Kolkata doctors who are on strike demanding justice for the rape and murder of a trainee doctor in the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital have agreed to parley with the chief minister, Mamata Banerjee.
The Supreme Court had ordered the striking doctors in Kolkata to call of the strike and resume duty. However, the doctors refused the orders of the court on Tuesday and embarked on the agitation.
But now getting in touch with her directly, they have mailed to Banerjee’s office to fix up an appointment with her.
They have been demanding justice for the labeled culprit. They also expect harsh consequences for anybody who attempted to conceal the crime from being committed.
A representative of the doctors, Doctor Aniket Mandal, said to NDTV that the protestors were willing to talk with the chief minister.
