Maharashtra cabinet expanded: 39 ministers inducted by Fadnavis

A total of 39 ministers were inducted into the cabinet. Among them, BJP’s Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Pankaja Munde, Nitesh Rane, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde)’s Gulabrao Patil, Uday Samant, and NCP (Ajit Pawar)’s Dhananjay Munde and Babasaheb Patil.

The Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis-led state cabinet was expanded on Sunday as the Mahayuti leaders took oath as ministers in Nagpur. Besides Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar were also present.

Thirty-nine ministers were inducted into the cabinet. Among them were BJP’s Chandrashekhar Bankole, Pankaj Munde, Nitesh Rane, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde)’s Gulab Rao Patil, Uday Saman, and NCP (Ajit Pawar)’s Dhananjay Munde and Babasaheb Patil.

Among the Shinde Sena ministers retained in the cabinet are Uday Samant, Shambhuraje Desai, Gulabrao Patil, Dada Bhuse, and Sanjay Rathod. Sanjay Shirsat, Bharat Gogawale, Prakash Abitkar, Yogesh Kadam,

Ashish Jaiswal, and Pratap Saraki were also inducted into the cabinet today. However, Deepak Kesarkar, Tanaji Sawant, and Abdul Sattar are certain Shiv Sena leaders who did not enter the cabinet this time around.

Sources said that Shiv Sena and NCP will retain the portfolios they held in the previous Mahayuti government, while Shiv Sena will likely gain one additional ministry. The BJP will retain major departments such as revenue, education, power, and irrigation, while the NCP will likely retain the finance, cooperative, agriculture, and sports portfolios.
