The exit polls have suggested that the Trinamool Congress of Mamata Banerjee will be outperformed by the BJP in the number of Lok Sabha seats it will bag in West Bengal.
Kolkata: While addressing reporters at the Kolkata airport on Sunday, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee blasted the exit poll surveys, terming them ‘manufactured at home two months ago’ as not a reality.
She said that any polls indicating such an outcome have no importance, and she condemned the media for demonstrating the polls that show the exit.
“We had seen the methodology of exit polls in 2016, 2019, and 2021; it has not been true any time,”
she said to the TV9 Bangla.
”These exit polls were created here by some people two months ago for consumption in media houses. They are not in any way authentic,” she stated.
What she pointed out was that the responses of the people who attended her rally did not tally with the exit poll results.
Regarding the tactics adopted by the BJP, she said, “The way the BJP went for polarization and put out the wrong perception that Muslims are taking away the quota of SC, ST, and OBCs, I am not sure Muslims will ever vote for the BJP. Andie am sure that CPI (M) and Congress helped the BJP in West Bengal.”.
Till now, the majority of exit polls that have been conducted have indicated that the BJP will secure more assembly seats than the ruling TMC in West Bengal.
