Man arrested for attacking MBA student in indore

In a gruesome incident in Indore district, a 23-year-old man was arrested for allegedly slitting the throat of a woman after she refused to talk to him. The incident occurred in Sanwer town, about 40 km from Indore, on Thursday afternoon.

The accused, identified as Aman Sheikh, allegedly attacked the MBA student with a knife. The woman was later admitted to a private hospital, where sources said she was out of danger.

DSP Umakant Chaudhary said the details of the case were that the victim and the accused had passed out from the same college. The girl said Sheikh continuously used to follow her and try to strike up a conversation. On the day of the incident, when she spurned his advances, a heated argument broke out between the two, leading to the violent attack.

The victim’s family members alleged that Sheikh had been harassing her for the past three years despite several warnings to desist from his actions.

The incident has caused quite an uproar among the local public and markets and business establishments in Sanwer remained shut for half a day in protest, staged by angry Hindu organizations.

According to the authorities, the situation in Sanwer remained peaceful after the violence, while the police kept a close vigil on the city.
