Man arrested for driving SUV on railway tracks in Jaipur

A man was arrested in Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Monday for driving his Mahindra Thar SUV onto railway tracks while allegedly inebriated. To create a social media reel, the man in question took a dangerous move and got caught in a tricky situation when his vehicle got stuck upon seeing an oncoming goods train.

Thankfully, the train’s loco pilot could stop the locomotive in time and thus spared any injury in the incident. A video that has gone viral now shows the man desperately trying to remove his car from the tracks amid onlookers and police officers present at the scene.

According to eyewitnesses, the SUV was pulled off the tracks with the help of bystanders. After he managed to free his vehicle, he immediately backed up his car for about 20-30 meters and ran away from the scene. He allegedly hit three people in his attempt to get away.

Following that incident, police pursued the vehicle and finally took the driver into custody. The SUV has been impounded as part of further investigation. This incident has not been an isolated one to point out the disturbing trend of people risking their lives to film videos on railway tracks. Several people have lost their lives, and many were seriously injured as a moving train ran over them while video shooting in different parts of the country.
