Mehbooba Mufti Vows to restore Article 370 in Aggressive Bijbehara Campaign

Mufti continues the election campaign and promises to fight for Article 370 restoration.

Continuing her aggressive campaign for the JK assembly polls, PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti addressed a huge gathering in Bijbehara. She termed the electoral exercise vital to address the suffocation prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir.

Emphasizing the resolution of the Kashmir issue as her party’s top priority, Mufti pledged to reclaim the special status revoked in 2019. She spoke of immense sacrifices made by Kashmiris, including orphaned children and widows.

Highlighting the fearful atmosphere, Mufti lamented the erosion of civil liberties. She criticized the frequent frisking of youth, phone seizures, and fabricated cases.

The PDP chief underscored lifting disempowered sections and protecting them from dispossession and deprivation. She flagged concerns over land encroachment, resource exploitation, and rising unemployment.

Criticizing hefty power tariff hikes despite J&K being a major producer, Mufti said this poll symbolizes an authentic call to safeguard identity and restore dignity. She vowed to be the voice confronting Delhi on issues plaguing Kashmir and post-2019 atrocities.

Seeking people’s endorsement, Mufti stressed that their franchise is a force for change and resistance against injustice. She assured that her support, fortified by public support, would stand against repression.

The election campaign in Kashmir is seen by the Mufti as a critical civic exercise to address the region’s political turmoil through democratic means.
