A heinous act of sexual violence has come to light in a village under the jurisdiction of Titawi police station, sending shockwaves through the local community.
According to authorities, a 14-year-old mentally challenged girl was allegedly raped by a youth from the same village on Friday. The shocking incident unfolded when the accused, identified as Sachin, allegedly lured the vulnerable minor to a nearby field, where he perpetrated the abhorrent act. The girl’s family, distraught and seeking justice, promptly filed a complaint with the police, setting the wheels of the law in motion.
Responding swiftly, the Superintendent of Police (Rural), Aditya Bansal, revealed that based on the family’s complaint, a case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the stringent Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Sachin was subsequently arrested on Saturday, facing the full weight of the law.
In a display of diligence, the authorities have ensured that the survivor has been sent for a thorough medical examination, a crucial step in gathering evidence and providing necessary support.
As the investigation unfolds, the local community remains gripped by a sense of outrage and concern for the well-being of the young survivor. The incident serves as a grim reminder of the need for heightened vigilance, education, and stringent measures to safeguard the most vulnerable members of society from such horrific crimes.
The case has once again brought the issue of sexual violence against minors and individuals with disabilities into sharp focus, prompting calls for stricter enforcement of laws and a concerted effort to address the underlying societal issues that enable such atrocities.
