Minister questions Muslim Insecurity amid population report

The Information and Broadcasting Minister, Anurag Thakur, has challenged Muslims’ notion of a lack of security in India by stating that the country has successfully transitioned through demographic change and that Muslims, as ever, make up 14.8 percent of its population. Based on the survey data, it was found that the number of adherents of Islam had grown by 45 percent, and they had equaled the Protestants in the number and even exceeded the Catholics in the use of state social services.

As per this report, the Hindu population was declining (3.6 lakh people). The where 82 percent secular segment was between 1950 and 2015, while the number of Muslims increased by 43. percent during the time frame. Target the most diverse one, 15 percent, as it points towards a balance and equitable atmosphere.

Thakur, a dominant member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) administration, firmly reported that the party does not have any plan to amend the Constitution saying the classes of Scheduled Castes (SCs), Scheduled Tribes (STs), and Other Backwards Classes (OBCs) will remain intact. Candidate was justifying the election campaign of his party by pointing out the Congress Party’s redirecting the reservations from SC/ST communities to the Muslim minority.

He did this by calling it a strategy of appeasement and vote bank politics. Thakur explained how the BJP has successfully empowered the Muslim community by providing housing and healthcare. The BJP government had already abolished the controversial triple talaq system. He underlined that the BJP stands for inclusive development in contrast to the Congress, which has been snubbing the Constitution and dishonoring its founding architect, Attorney General Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
