Modi sworn in for third term, outlines agenda for new government

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took the oath of office and entered into the third term on May 30, 2019, in a mega inaugural installation at Rashtrapati Bhavan. PM Narendra Modi and the new 72 members of the Union Council of Ministers were sworn in on Tuesday, paving the way for the government’s agendas in the subsequent term.

Regarding welfare schemes, the first file signed by the Prime Minister was regarding the ‘PM Kisan Nidhi,’ an important agricultural farm scheme. This signified the new government’s priorities moving forward, which are expected to transform into an official invitation to President Droupadi Murmu to convene a session of Parliament at an impending cabinet meeting.

This channel will be marked by the inauguration session, during which the President will address both houses to state the government’s priorities for the next term. Some of the key BJP leaders who were part of the government during the oath-taking ceremony included Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and Nirmala Sitharaman, who were among the ministers who were sworn in along with PM Modi.

‘This team of ministers is a balance of youth and experience; we will spare no effort in enhancing the quality of people’s lives,’ PM stated in a post made on X which used to be Twitter after the event. The first cabinet meeting was scheduled for Thursday, along with the announcement of which portfolio each minister will be assigned.

More such representations from states like Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have been incorporated into this new cabinet structure, and special emphasis has been laid on social integration. Now that the Modi government has commenced its third term, the country is eager to see the policy measures set to roll out and the structural changes that will define the next phase of India’s growth trajectory.
