Mumbai police intensify search for Baba Siddique murder suspects

Mumbai Police has activated five teams outside Maharashtra in a concerted effort to track down suspects linked to the murder of politician Baba Siddique.

As stated by the Mumbai Police’s Crime Branch, the arms that were used in the crime had come from Rajasthan, they claim. So far, five arms have been recovered. Active searches are being conducted in Haryana to apprehend the main culprit behind Siddique’s murder. So far, the Crime Branch has arrested 15 persons in the case, 10 of whom are now in judicial custody.

A former minister in Maharashtra and one of the prominent leaders of the Nationalist Congress Party allied with Ajit Pawar was shot dead in Bandra, Mumbai, on October 12. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has accepted the responsibility for the murder by giving a reason that Siddique had close relations with Salman Khan, a Bollywood actor.

A man was recently arrested in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, for threatening Siddique’s son, Zeeshan, as well as Salman Khan. Salman Khan received his second death threat this week, which prompted the Mumbai Police to investigate a threatening message allegedly from Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang.

The threat received over WhatsApp on Monday asks for a ransom payment of $594,397 for Khan’s safety. As the story develops, full-gear police are now on the case.
