A major operation was launched against various establishments for alleged malpractices related to the NEET Undergraduate examination, and in this connection, the CBI has nabbed the owner of a private school in Godhra, Gujarat.
Dixit Patel, the owner of Jay Jalaram School, was arrested on Sunday, bringing the total number of arrests to six. Jay Jalaram School was among the testing centers where NEET-UG was held on May 5.

From this investigation, it has been established that the accused persons, ranging from Patel to others, had advised the candidates, who wanted to adopt unlawful means to achieve high results, to sit for their exams at Jay Jalaram School. In the previous year’s NEET examination held in the same center, a loophole was observed during the NEET examination, in which the accused intended to interfere with the answer scripts.
Other accused are an education consultant, a school principal, and a teacher, besides the alleged middlemen. Of them, 20 accused had allegedly demanded Rs 10 lakh each from 27 candidates, promising they would clear the examination. Out of the 27 learners, only three passed the exam.
The First Information Report was lodged in one police station named Godhra Police, and later, it was transferred to CBI.
The agency has fanned operations and is searching seven places in Gujarat. Recent arrests show how tenacious the authorities are in eradicating malpractices during the vital medical entrance examination.
