NEET-PG 2024 exam rescheduled to Be held on August 11

The NBEMS has released a new schedule for the NEET-PG 2024 examination, which is planned. The exam, which was earlier scheduled and then postponed, will be conducted on August 11, 2024, in two sessions.

On Friday, the NBEMS said in a notification,

“About the schedule of NEET-PG 2024 as mentioned in the previous NBEMS notice dated 22.06.2024, it is hereby notified that NEET-PG 2024 will be held on 11 August 2024 in two shifts.”

This new move follows after the Ministry of Health had earlier moved to shift the examinations what it termed as a ‘preventative measure.’ The ministry claimed that due to “recent occurrences of allegations concerning the integrity of some competitive examination,” it would examine the armory of the NEET-PG processes conducted by NBEMS in collaboration with its technical partner, TCS.

The NEET-PG is, therefore, a national entrance test for admission to all post-MBBS DNB courses, post-MBBS direct six-year DrNB courses, and NBEMS diploma courses taught at the nation’s medical colleges.

Besides the NEET-PG, the Centre also scrapped the UGC-NET exam, asserting issues regarding the ‘integrity’ of the test. As per the earlier schedule, the UGC-NET examination, which is conducted to award Junior Research Fellowships to candidates and recruit assistant professors, has been scheduled to be conducted in August-September.

Another examination that was also moved due to the threats was the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) UGC-NET for which the new schedule is from July 25 to July 27.
