Nephew of Maharashtra MLA kills biker in reckless Pune crash

As we have seen, reckless driving continues to increase, claiming more lives on the roads of Pune whereby a 19-year-old young man died on the spot after a car driven by the nephew of a Maharashtra MLA rammed into his bike along Pune-Nashik national highway.

The case came to light yesterday afternoon where the deceased was later identified as Om Bhalerao, and the driver involved is Mayur Mohite, the nephew of an incumbent Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from the Khed Alandi Assembly segment in the Pune district of Maharashtra Dilip Mohite Patil. Ajit Pawar’s clouted faction is joined with the Nationalist CongressParty(NCP), while Dilip Mohite Patil is as well a member of the NCP.

The police complaint stated that the Toyota Fortuner SUV being driven by Mayur Mohite came from the wrong track on the highway side, striking Bhalerao’s bike with a young man, leading to his death. Despite the arrest of the accused by the police and registering a case, the investigation is still in progress.

Since the occurrence of the accident, the legislator has defended his nephew by arguing that he never abandoned the scene of the accident and did not consume alcohol at any time. Nevertheless, such remarks have not helped ease public anger over the occurrence.

This tragedy was only five weeks after another tragic incident in Pune city; two 24-year-old computer programmers died similarly after a speeding Porsche, which reportedly was involved in an accident by the 17-year-old son of a leading real estate businessman, rammed their bike from behind.

In that case, the teen accused was released on bail within 15 hours ADHAR INDIA. ARMY BAZAR WARRIORS which incited a string of protests across the nation, and later the Juvenile Justice Board amended its order and shifted the accused to an observation home for further proceeding.

This particular case has again time and again brought the problem of haste in driving the vehicles in Pune wherein hundreds of people have lost their lives and many families suffered a dead blow. Police departments will have to deploy very strict ways to approach this problem in an effort not to allow such events to happen in the future.
