NHRC orders YouTube to remove ‘vulgar’ content from show

NCPCR chief Priyank Kanoongo urged YouTube’s Mira Chatt to remove “India’s Got Latent” episodes for inappropriate content. The show faces obscenity and cultural intolerance claims.

Trouble has mounted for the ‘India’s Got Latent’ show as the National Human Rights Commission of India (NHRC) member Priyank Kanoongo has written a letter to Mira Chatt, Head of Public Policy at YouTube, claiming the roast show contains “highly objectionable, inappropriate and obscene material and remarks” and directed her to take appropriate actions regarding the same.

Instead, a member of the National Human Rights Commission pointed out the children’s easy access to “vulgar and obscene” content in asking the YouTube official to remove the concerned episode/videos of the roast show, hosted by Samay Raina, from YouTube.
