Mangalore police seized 6,310 kg of MDMA worth ₹6 crore and arrested Nigerian drug dealers.

Seizing 6,310 kg of MDMA worth ₹6 crore, Mangaluru CCB police arrested a Nigerian national allegedly involved in the sale of the drugs, officials said on Monday.

Mangaluru City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal informed that Central Crime Branch (CCB) police conducted a raid on September 29 at a lodge near Pumpwell, which is under the jurisdiction of Mangaluru East Police Station.

This is an operation to check drug sales in the city. In this process, the police arrested 51-year-old Haider Ali from Chembugudde House, Thokkottu, Mangalore.

On 1 December, the police found Haider in possession of 15 grams of MDMA, popularly known as Ecstasy, worth ₹75,000, and a case was registered against him in Mangaluru East police station.

Advanced technical analysis and intelligence gathering by the CCB police had traced the chain of supply of drugs to Bengaluru, and a network of drug peddlers connected to Haider was unfolded, Agarwal further added.
