ADVANTAGE OF MANJHI: 52-year-old Manjhi, who hails from Keonjhar, has vast experience. He has served the public and party well. His management efficiency has proven him to become a front-runner for the post.
The party has also nominated two Deputy Chief Ministers these are KV Singh Deo, a six times elected member of the legislative assembly tested royal of Patna (princely state) Bolangir, and Pravati Parida, who had been a member of the legislative assembly for the first time but, had been affiliated to the party for the last 28 years.

It was challenging for the BJP to select the next Chief Minister as it would form the government in the coastal state of India for the first time after 24 years of Naveen Patnaik’s dominance. However, the state had reposed faith in the BJP, given it 78 out of the 147 assembly seats, while the BJP only managed to secure 51 of the 143 seats.
The BJP legislature party finalized these names this evening, and the Union ministers Rajnath Singh and Bhupendra Yadav, the observers for the Central leadership, were present when the selection was under process.
