Omar Abdullah, Anand Mahindra, R Madhavan join Modi’s campaign

Omar Abdullah signed up for PM Modi’s obesity campaign, saying he was delighted and highlighting the need to address obesity for improved public health. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday signed up for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s obesity campaign, saying he was delighted and highlighting the need to address obesity for improved public health.

It follows PM Modi inviting ten high-profile figures from politics, sports, business and the entertainment industry, including CM Omar Abdullah, Anand Mahindra and R Madhavan, to join him in his campaign against obesity in the nation.

As I said in yesterday’s #MannKiBaat, I would like to invite the following individuals to join efforts in making our battle against obesity stronger and sharing ideas to reduce edible oil intake in food. I also appeal to them to suggest 10 people each so that our movement becomes larger! Responding to the X post, Abdullah nominated another ten individuals to raise awareness of obesity.

I’m very happy to join the campaign against obesity launched by PM @narendramodi ji. Obesity causes several lifestyle-related health issues like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, strokes & breathing problems not to mention mental health conditions like anxiety & depression. Today I’m nominating these 10 people to join the PM’s campaign against obesity & requesting them to nominate a further 10 people each to take this fight forward,” the CM posted on X.

Omar Abdullah, a sportsperson, is highly deserving of his place among popular personalities who love physical fitness. Last year, at a Srinagar marathon, he caught everyone off guard by participating in the race and running alongside elite sportspersons from all over the nation and abroad.
