Opposition ‘I.N.D.I.A’ Bloc to hold Strategy meet ahead of election counting

The Congress president, Mallikarjun Charge, announced that the I.N.D.I.A. bloc held an informal meeting today to decide the polling for the counting day. They decided to schedule the count for June 4.


They have said the final and phase-seven of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 will take place on the coming Saturday. Today, the I N D I A bloc will have an “informal meeting” to discuss the arrangements for the counting of the votes, said Congress president Mallikarjun K.


Kharge also said the top leaders of the alliance will also contemplate how the leaders and the workers should remain awakened.

The grand old party announced that Congress would not be part of the debates on exit polls.

”Given that the results are due on June 4,  as far as that is concerned, we do not think that there is any need for us to indulge in guesses and start a slugfest for TRP,”

Congress’s media and publicity department chairman Pawan Kheraj said in a post on X.

Charge also stated that the leader of the Trinamool Congress party, which is a key partner in the UPA, Mamata Banerjee, will not be available for the meeting today since she will be preoccupied with the elections.

Speaking to the press after inaugurating a meeting at Congress headquarters, the president said: “This meeting is being held for our own benefit to train people and to provide input. This meeting is an internal one. In this, we will just deliberate on what should be done on the day of counting and how our people should be awake to what is happening, whether it is the EVMs or the Form 17C.

Before concluding, Charge also emphasized how they are conducting this meeting

“just for our own sake,” to inform and educate their people
